Team Mahwah

Robert Ferguson is Council President on the Mahwah Township Council, having served eight years as Councilman. A 14-year resident of Mahwah, he is a Chief Financial Officer in the retail appliance industry and a Certified Management Accountant with 20+ years of experience in finance, accounting, and business management. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Rutgers Business School and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Delaware.

As Councilman, Robert has been liaison to the Mahwah Board of Education and the Mahwah Library Board of Trustees, sat on the Historic Preservation Commission, and chaired the Ordinance Committee. He also serves on the Executive Board of the Township of Mahwah Youth Sports Boosters.

He has been married to his wife, Mary, for 21 years, and together they have three daughters. Robert has built a track record of responsive, accountable local government for every Mahwah resident and business, and he is committed to continuing that work.

Chris Howard is a lifelong Mahwah resident who has proudly called the township home for more than 50 years. A graduate of the Mahwah school system, Chris was active in youth sports and earned the rank of Eagle Scout with Troop 50, experiences that helped shape his lifelong commitment to service and leadership.

Since 1992, Chris has dedicated himself to serving the Mahwah community as a volunteer with both the Mahwah Ambulance Corps and Fire Department. Throughout his years of service, he has held numerous leadership positions and currently serves as President of Mahwah Company 1, Deputy Coordinator for the Office of Emergency Management, and Township Communications Officer. Chris is also President of the Mahwah Municipal Alliance, working alongside community leaders to promote prevention, education, and wellness initiatives, and has given several years of service on the Mahwah Planning Board.

Outside of public service, Chris is the Chief Financial Officer of a private company with multiple businesses specializing in mitigation and reconstruction. He earned his MBA from Rutgers University and a Bachelor of Science in Business from Ramapo College. Chris and his wife have been happily married for 24 years and are proud parents of three children; two have graduated from the Mahwah school system, and their youngest will enter Mahwah High School as a freshman this fall. For the past 13 years, Chris has also coached Mahwah Youth Football, proudly supporting the next generation of Thunderbirds.

Megan Jankowski is a proud member of the Mahwah community, having called Mahwah home for the past 30 years. A graduate of the Mahwah School District, Megan was actively involved throughout her school years (chorus, band, the bowling team, and multiple honor societies) and continued her education at Ramapo College. She and her husband chose to build their family in Mahwah, where they are raising their daughter, now a student at Ramapo Ridge Middle School.

Professionally, Megan has built a career focused on serving others. With a background in banking and finance, she now works as a local insurance agent, helping individuals and families protect what matters most. Her dedication to Mahwah extends well beyond her work: she has served on the Mahwah Planning Board since 2019, has been a member of the Beautification Committee, has coached recreational cheerleading for the past six years, and regularly volunteers at school events.

Megan believes in responsive, accountable leadership that listens to residents, encourages community engagement, and makes thoughtful decisions that protect Mahwah's character while planning responsibly for its future. She is committed to serving with integrity and transparency, and to preserving Mahwah's identity as the "Meeting Place," a welcoming community where every resident has a voice and everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Anthony J. Miller is a lifelong resident of Mahwah, calling the township home for all 21 years of his life. A proud product of the Mahwah School System, he graduated from Mahwah High School in 2023, where he was involved with the Ice Hockey Program and earned a place on the "Century Wall" after surpassing the 100-point milestone as one of the program's highest-scoring players in history.

Anthony went on to attend Villanova University, where he is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree and will graduate a semester early. He intends to apply to law school this fall and has gained valuable practical experience through several public service internships, notably within the Bergen County legal system.

Inspired by his grandfather's more than four decades of service as Mahwah's Municipal Court Judge and his family's deep roots in the township, Anthony has a strong appreciation for the community that shaped him and a desire to give back. He is dedicated to building upon Mahwah's strong foundation through thoughtful leadership, responsive local government, and a commitment to preserving what makes the township a great place to work, live, and raise a family.
